Watauga Street Roadwork Begins This Week — Project Runs Through November
The City of Kingsport has announced that roadway and utility improvements on Watauga Street are beginning the week of June 8. The project runs from the Gibson Mill roundabout to Linville Street — approximately 2,300 feet — and includes road subgrade repairs, new asphalt, new curb, and water, sewer, and stormwater repairs. Work is expected to continue through November 30, and motorists are advised to use caution and seek alternate routes where possible.

Kingsport Relaunches Long Island Iced Tea Trail
Visit Kingsport has relaunched the Long Island Iced Tea Trail, celebrating the city’s claim as the birthplace of the Long Island Iced Tea. Throughout June, local restaurants and businesses are offering themed creations — both alcoholic and non-alcoholic — inspired by the drink’s Kingsport origins, which trace back to Charles “Old Man” Bishop in the 1920s. Visitors can explore more than a dozen locally owned stops along the trail.
