New Dental Continuing Education Program Launches at Kingsport Center for Higher Education
Kingsport city leaders recently celebrated the launch of a new continuing education program at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education. The center is now a certified site for continuing education classes for dental hygienists and assistants through the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. City Manager Chris McCartt noted the program will benefit dental offices in Northeast Tennessee by allowing professionals to obtain continuing education units without traveling outside the area, and classes are scheduled to continue throughout the year on a rotation.

Kingsport’s Red, White & BOOM Independence Day Celebration is happening on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM onwards at Main St, Kingsport. The fifth-annual event returns to Downtown Kingsport and will feature food trucks, fireworks, live music and more, taking place in the Centennial Park area of Main Street. Grand Funk Railroad is set to headline the free concert. The event is free and open to the public.
