Kingsport BMA Approves Budget with Body Camera Funding
The Kingsport Police Department is one step closer to getting body cameras after the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a budget on first reading that includes funding for the cameras. Mayor Paul Montgomery previously indicated the project would cost around $1.8 million spread over five years, and city leaders say the move will create greater transparency for both officers and the community.
