KPD Seeks Two Robbery Suspects After Off-Duty Deputy Intervenes
Kingsport police are searching for two men accused of attempting to rob another man near a traffic circle, after an off-duty Sullivan County deputy witnessed the incident around 7:45 a.m. near Gibson Mill Road, East Ravine Road, and Watauga Street. Two men — one armed with a large stick, one with what appeared to be a metal pipe — attempted to rob another man, but the deputy intervened before anyone was injured. The suspects were later identified as 35-year-old Justin Roberts and 26-year-old William Burk, and warrants have been obtained charging them with aggravated robbery. Both men are considered dangerous — anyone who sees them should call 911 and should not approach.

Man Arrested After Attempting to Break Into Kingsport Home With Axe
A man faces several charges after Sullivan County investigators said he came to a home in Kingsport armed with an axe. Donald Knapp, 66, arrived at the house in the Bloomingdale area just after 3 a.m. and the victim told deputies Knapp attempted to break down their front door with the axe. Knapp fled into a wooded area near the house but was later found and arrested. He faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of burglary.
