Industrial Fire at Kingsport Airgas Facility Sends One to Hospital

The Kingsport Fire Department responded to an industrial fire on Monday morning at the Airgas facility on West Industry Drive after multiple gas cylinders began venting and caught fire. One person was transported to an area hospital, though officials stated there was no hazard to the surrounding community. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Kingsport Man Faces Multiple Charges After Pursuit in Stolen Vehicle

A Kingsport man identified as Michael Poole, 35, was taken into custody by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office after reportedly clipping a deputy’s vehicle and crashing a stolen vehicle into several ditches during a pursuit. Poole had outstanding felony warrants from Scott County, Virginia, for violation of probation, and the vehicle he was driving was reportedly listed as stolen from Scott County. In Sullivan County, Poole faces charges including evading arrest, possession of stolen property, possession of a Schedule II drug, and several moving violations.
