Suspect Sought After Shots Fired Near Founders Park
Johnson City police are searching for a suspect after shots were fired in the parking lot near the Pavilion at Founders Park early Sunday morning. An investigation determined that an argument between two groups occurred in the parking lot and that a male fired a handgun at three people — no one was injured. With the assistance of Flock cameras, investigators identified the shooter as Domynik Smith, 20, of Erwin, and obtained a warrant charging him with three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Smith had not been arrested as of Thursday afternoon; anyone with information on his location is asked to contact the JCPD Criminal Investigations Division at 423-434-6166.
