Salvation Army of Johnson City Opens New Veterans Wing
The Salvation Army of Johnson City recently showed off its new Veterans Wing Shelter, located at its Center of Hope facility on Ashe Street. The brand-new Veterans Wing Shelter has 15 rooms and was funded by a grant from the Veterans Administration, as well as Washington County, the City of Johnson City, and private donors. The shelter will serve U.S. military veterans experiencing homelessness, addressing what officials describe as an urgent national need.

‘Pinnacle Prep’: Ashley Academy to Open New High School in August
Ashley Academy in Johnson City announced that it will open a new high school on its private campus, called Pinnacle Preparatory High School, which will serve as the organization’s “upper school.” Ashley Academy has taught grades pre-K through middle school since 1979, and Pinnacle Prep is currently enrolling students for grades 9 and 10, with classes set to start in August at the school’s campus on S. Roan St.
