📜 Today in Johnson City History

Eighty-five years ago today in 1941, Johnson City Police Chief Tom Carriger issued what he called his “absolutely last warning” to bicycle riders ignoring traffic laws. He announced that younger offenders would be cited to Juvenile Court and older ones to City Court. “Our warnings have been consistently ignored,” Carriger said, “so it has become necessary to issue this definite notice.” Whether it worked is not recorded.
