Today in Johnson City History

One hundred and twenty-five years ago today in 1901, a social column in The Chattanooga Sunday Times noted that the superintendent of the Erwin National Fish Hatchery had taken two Johnson City women out to see the operation. The hatchery was officially established in 1897 and is still in operation today — one of the older continuously operating federal fish hatcheries in the country.
