Washington Co.-Johnson City EMS Adapts to Flooding Danger

Washington County and Johnson City EMS crews have been adjusting their operations in response to ongoing flooding dangers in the area. Recent flash flooding prompted the Washington County/Johnson City Emergency Management Agency to report flooding in local neighborhoods, with some residents safely evacuated and the Red Cross providing support to those impacted. 📜 Today in Johnson City History

Today in Johnson City History

Ninety-five years ago today in 1931, the Johnson City Chronicle reported that all retail stores, banks, and offices in town would close at noon on July 17 for the official opening of U.S. Highway No. 23 — a major regional road connecting Johnson City to Virginia and Kentucky. The following day was designated “Neighbors’ Day,” with band concerts, free merchandise, and special store offerings planned to welcome visitors from across the region.
