The ETSU Buccaneers dropped their 2026 season opener to the Campbell Camels by a score of 49–37. The Bucs fought throughout the game but could not hold off Campbell in the closing stretch. The loss sets the stage for a must-see home opener next weekend against Tusculum.

Today in Johnson City History
Ninety-five years ago today in 1931, a twelve-year manhunt for a Massachusetts man wanted in his wife’s brutal killing ended quietly at the Soldiers’ Home in Johnson City, where William Brown had been living as a veteran since June. He was caught only after applying for his pension, and was returned to Massachusetts in the custody of state detectives to face the charges.
