Washington County Board of Education Moves Forward on New Middle School Discussion
The Washington County Schools system is considering a significant structural change for middle schoolers. According to Superintendent Jerry Boyd, discussions are underway to potentially create two dedicated middle schools. Currently, all 10 elementary schools in the Washington County system serve students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. The proposed changes would regroup schools so that elementary serves Pre-K through 5th grade, while new middle schools would serve 6th through 8th grade. The concept envisions one middle school feeding into Daniel Boone High School on the north side of the district and another feeding into David Crockett High School on the south side. The proposal is in the very early stages, and if approved, it would be years before teachers or students would see any changes. Superintendent Boyd also clarified that any claims about teachers’ and staff’s positions being reduced were false.

Legacy Life Planning
Most people in the Tri-Cities don’t have a strategic financial plan — not because they don’t need one, but because they’ve never had someone sit down and explain what that actually looks like for their situation. Lance Evans at Legacy Life Planning changes that. Born and raised in the Tri-Cities, Lance has spent 20 years helping families, business owners, and professionals with debt elimination, estate planning, tax strategy, and retirement planning. His first consultation is free, and by all accounts the people who take him up on that rarely regret it.
His services cover a lot of ground: getting clients out of debt faster than they thought possible, setting up wills and trusts without attorney-level fees, minimizing taxes for business owners, and building retirement strategies that aren’t entirely at the mercy of the stock market. He works alongside your existing CPA rather than around them — a detail that matters if you’ve already got someone handling your books.
Legacy Life Planning has two Johnson City locations: 404 S Roan St and inside the Johnson City Mall. Schedule a free assessment at legacylifeplanninglance.com or call (423) 341-8601.
