Kingsport Scoop – April 24, 2026

☀️ Today’s Weather

Overcast skies with a high of 80°F and a low of 50°F — just a 1% chance of rain. A warm Friday for the Model City.

😄 Only in Kingsport

Kingsport Speedway opened its season Friday night under the lights, the Greenbelt got cleaned up for Earth Day, and a local brewery celebrated a downtown expansion — all in the same week. In most cities, any one of those would be the week’s big news. Here, it’s just a busy Thursday–Friday.

🧠 Trivia Q&A

Question: Kingsport’s Exchange Place is one of the region’s most treasured living history sites, welcoming visitors for seasonal events and demonstrations. Exchange Place hosts two major annual fairs — one in spring and one in fall. What is the name of the spring fair, and along what historic road does Exchange Place sit that once served as a key route for early settlers moving westward into Tennessee?

Answer: The spring event is the Exchange Place Spring Garden Fair, held each April. Exchange Place sits along the Great Stage Road (also known as the Old Stage Road), a historic route that carried early settlers and traders westward through the Holston Valley into the Tennessee frontier.
