Meet Your Neighbor: Dr. Kyle Umland, No Limit Chiropractic
What made you choose chiropractic care over other paths in medicine?
I never wanted to go the route of mainstream medicine, I’ve never been a fan of hospitals and wasn’t drawn to a career built around medicating people to manage symptoms. Chiropractic fit my lifestyle instead. The philosophy is built on proper alignment, nutrition, and exercise to help the body do what it’s meant to do, which is heal and maintain itself.
What’s different about the care someone gets here compared to a bigger clinic with multiple staff?
You’ll always be seen by me, and we never rush through a visit. That means the care is tailored to your unique needs every time you come in.
Can you explain what instrument-based adjustments are for folks who’ve never tried it?
Earlier in my career I thought instrument adjusting was just for doctors who couldn’t manually adjust. I was wrong. The instruments let me do more, they give more input to the nervous system to correct issues, more ways to adjust in motion or in different positions, and a more relaxed, comfortable adjustment that a lot of patients prefer. If a manual adjustment is still what’s needed, I’ll do that too. Whatever gets the best results for that individual is what I use.
What do you think you’re doing differently for patients who’ve already tried everything else?
I use a lot of muscle testing, which is basically asking the body what it needs. That way we address whatever your body’s priorities actually are, instead of giving everyone the same adjustment every time. I’m focused on changing the underlying patterns for lasting relief, not just a temporary fix.
