📜 Today in Johnson City History

One hundred years ago today in 1926, the Johnson City Chronicle reported that 14-year-old Charles Landingham of Johnson City had been unconscious for 21 days at Johns Hopkins Hospital following an automobile accident. Brain specialists were monitoring him, and an operation was being considered to relieve pressure on his brain. He had been struck three weeks earlier by a car driven by a local minister on what is now the Old Elizabethton Highway.
