Kingsport Police Searching for Armed Murder Suspect

Kingsport police are searching for an armed murder suspect following a disturbing incident on Potato Hill Road. On June 4, around 5:40 a.m., law enforcement received calls about a car that had crashed in a yard on Potato Hill Road in Kingsport. The suspect was identified as 54-year-old Kevin Justis, who was arrested and charged with murder, along with several other charges, after a woman was found dead down the street from the crash. In video footage, Justis is seen talking to a neighbor and his father behind the wheel of a blue SUV before backing out of the driveway, then suddenly driving back in reverse, hitting the neighbor’s vehicle and crashing in front of the house.

Video Shows Crash Moments Before Kingsport Murder Suspect Arrest

New video has emerged capturing the moments just before the arrest of a Kingsport murder suspect. Kingsport resident Frank Crawford said that around 5:30 that morning, he saw Justis on camera standing on the front porch of his parents’ house on Potato Hill Road, and he drove over to see what was going on. Video shows Justis doing a burnout, then slamming on the brakes and putting his vehicle in reverse toward Crawford — the car ultimately ended up in a flower bed before it died.

Kingsport Man Charged with 13 Counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

A Kingsport man has been arrested and charged with 13 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said that it received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding images of suspected child pornography uploaded online, and the tip included information that identified Andrew Adams as the suspect. Police executed a search warrant at Adams’s home and gathered evidence; Adams was arrested in Florida and has since been brought back to Sullivan County, where he is held at the Sullivan County Jail.

Watauga Street Roadwork in Kingsport to Last Until Nov. 30

The City of Kingsport has announced that roadway and utility improvements on Watauga Street are underway. The project runs from the Gibson Mill roundabout to Linville Street — approximately 2,300 feet — and includes road subgrade repairs, new asphalt, new curb, and water, sewer, and stormwater repairs. Work is expected to continue through November 30, and motorists are advised to use caution and seek alternate routes where possible.

Fun Fest 2026

For more than 45 years, Fun Fest has created a reason for people to come together, and Fun Fest 2026 runs July 17–25 at locations across Kingsport. The Sunset Concert Series will feature Jeremy Camp and Katy Nichole (July 23), Daughtry and Switchfoot (July 24), and LeAnn Rimes and Brothers Osborne (July 25). Block Party weekend is the pre-kickoff of Fun Fest, with this year’s dates on July 10th, 11th, and 12th.
