The Tri-Cities Business Directory Has a New Look, and Fewer Dead Ends

If you've ever pulled a phone number from an online directory and gotten a "this number is no longer in service" recording, you know why most local directories stop being useful. Businesses close, move, or change hands, and their listings stay up for years after.

We just finished an overhaul of the Tri-Cities Business Directory at 1-find.com. The redesign is the part you'll notice first, but it isn't the biggest change.

Closed businesses are gone

We went through the directory and removed the businesses that have closed. That's housekeeping, but it's the difference between a directory you try once and one you come back to. Search for a mechanic in Bristol or a florist in Elizabethton now, and what comes back is a list of places that are open and will answer the phone.

A new look

The directory also has a new design. It's easier to read, easier to search, and works the way you'd expect on a phone, which is where most people are looking up a business anyway.

If your business is listed

Take a minute to look at your listing. Hours, phone numbers, and addresses change, and we'd rather fix an old detail now than have a customer find it first. Send us the correction and we'll update it. Feel free to claim your listing and edit it yourself, too!

If your business isn't listed and should be, let us know that too.

Keeping it accurate

A cleanup only matters if it holds. We'll keep checking listings going forward so the directory stays current. If you notice a business that has closed or a listing with wrong information, flag it and we'll take care of it.
